Hello friends!!! WOW! It's getting SO HOT over my way! The weather is supposed to be in the 90s and 100s all week and so I thought I'd turn my attention to much "cooler" thoughts like Christmas!! LOL!
How about you?! Are you ready to start doing your Christmas crafting while it's hot outside?!
I am so excited that Stampin' Up! decided to keep this gorgeous stamp set, Bells & Boughs, for their collection of Christmas stamps in the catalog this year! I immediately fell in love with it when it first came out and I just love the Vintage look it gives to your creations!
I have used some of these gorgeous retired Stampin' Up! decorative papers to create this layout, but I've added a sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and used the Bitty Banners Framelits Die to cut it out and layer it onto a punched out Bravo Burgundy Modern Labels Punch. I've also used my Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder...it matches the poinsettias perfectly.
I've stamped the poinsettia image twice and colored the pine bough on one and then colored the poinsettia flowers on the other, cut out the flowers and popped them up with dimensionals. The image was finished off with some tiny pearls and then I've tied some Vanilla Seam Binding ribbon on the smaller strip.
Here are some challenges that I'd like to enter this card for:
Christmas Challenges (with sketches) - sketch plus twist with embossing
Crafty Creations - FREE for all!
Dutch Dare - Tic Tac Toe: Flowers, pearls & distressing (sanded around edges)
Totally Papercrafts - Lots of Layers (at least three must be used)
Cards for Men - Christmas in July - I'd give this to a man!
Although I know that the temperature is going to stay hot...at least I know that I can "think" about cooler thoughts by staying in my air conditioned craft room and create some Christmas designs. I always thought it was much more fun to think about Christmas when it's hot and you're not in any hurry to get things done in a rush! :) Stay cool today and have fun being crafty!
HUGS & SMILES! :)
