Happy Valentine's Day my friends! :)
I've been such a "bad" girl as I haven't made the time to sit and look around blog land!
Although my day is full of "to do" errands today, I know that I can sit down later on my laptop to take a visit to see what you are all up to!! So I apologize for not seeing you and making my rounds.
If you are looking for something really fun and fast to make for a quick Valentine treat for a loved one, then this is something that I recommend you try out!! SO FUN!!
I found this cute idea on Pinterest and made my own adjustments and measurements to it.
I call it the "Punched Pouch"
So cute!! :) I made these for my family members to remind each one how much they are loved today!
And of course you know "guys"...they don't get over-whelmed with much of anything, but I know they appreciated the thought behind it! :)
I just used several punches to create the owl look.
Take a piece of card stock (Basic Grey used here) and cut out a piece that measures 8 1/2" x 3 1/2" and just fold it in half. Run one half of the folded piece through the Big Shot Machine to emboss it. (retired SU! folder used here). Then you'll need to use your Simply Scored Mat and score 7/8" on each side of the 3 1/2" side card stock and then attach some Sticky Strip tape to each scored 7/8" side on only half of the Basic Grey folded card stock to attach to the other side to form the pouch.
For the the rest, I used some retired SU! papers (using up more of those papers I have! YAY!) and cut them at about 3 1/4" by 2" and then used the oval scallop punch to punch each side. (for the wings) The beak is the small heart punch (matched with the papers I've used. - Lucky Limeade & Wisteria Wonder)
The eyes were made with the Small Scallop Circle, 1" circle and 3/4" circle punches. I used my white gel pen for marks on the eyes. For the "owl ears" I've punched partially through the top of the pouch with my 2 1/2" circle punch. - Note- you might have to punch through one side at time for it to work smoothly.
I generated the sentiment on the computer and punched it out with the Word Window punch and then layered it onto a punched out matching color. (same colors as the punched out beaks.)
And then when you turn the pouch over, this is what it looks like:
I also computer generated the "..ME!" sentiment and then punched it out with the Small Heart punch.
Then of course you are ready to fill with a fun sized treat and give to your favorite Valentine!! :)
